Franklin district
is a town which is located in Auckland on the North Island of
New Zealand. The district is has a population over 51,000. The
district of Franklin is mainly rural. Franklin is separated
between administrative regions of Auckland to the north and
Waikato to the South. Pukekohe is the administrative town of
Franklin. Pukekohe has a population of over 18,000. In maori,
the word puke-kohe means “Hill of the Kohekohe”. The Kohekohe is
a tree from New Zealand. The New Zealand Steel is a well known
factory in the district of Franklin. It is located in Glenbrook
in the north of Waiuku. Waiuku is situated at the south end of
Waiuku River; the town is around forty km southwest of the
centre of Auckland city. |
