On this picture is the Harbour Bridge of Auckland located in Auckland New Zealand. The bridge is a structure of an eight lane road bridge that extends the Waitemata Harbour and joins the Freemans Bay in Auckland city with Northcote. It has total distance of 1.15 km. The bridge has a height of 43.27 m above high water. The bridge was opened in May 1959 by the Prime Minister of this period, Sidney Holland. The construction of the Harbour Bridge took four years. In 1959 the bridge road was officially open with four lanes with two in each direction. During the construction of the bridge there have been four deaths.Those men have their names on a memorial plaque under the bridge.
