Maersk Sealand
is one of the biggest transport and container companies in the
world. The company has over 100,000 employees. The main company
is located in Denmark, Copenhagen but has also offices in over
one hundred and twenty five countries in the world. Maersk has
over five hundred container vessels and over one million four
hundred containers. On the picture above you can see containers
from the Maersk Company. The founder of the company is A.P.
Moller and the company started in 1904. In 1965 when his father
died, Mr. Maersk Mc-Kinney Moller took over the company. Maersk
Mc-Kinney was born in 1913, he married in 1940 Emma Neergaard
Rasmussen. They got together three children, Mrs Mc-Kinney
Moller passed away in 2005. Maersk is also involved in other
different activities as shipbuilding, energy and manufacturing
industries. |
