The
Christchurch Cathedral is located on the Cathedral Square in the
magnificent city of Christchurch, New Zealand. The Anglican
Cathedral of Christchurch was built during the nineteenth
century. Originally the Anglican Cathedral has been designed by
the British architect Sir George Gilbert Scott and the famous
architect Benjamin Mountfort from New Zealand. They first
planned to construct the cathedral in wood but then found that
it could be build be local stone which were of very good
quality. Benjamin Mountfort is known as the father of Canterbury
architecture. The cathedral was completed in 1904. The Cathedral
Café is a place where you can take a seat, drink a coffee or a
tea, have a meal and relax. The price range is very reasonable.
The tower of the cathedral has a height of around 63 meters. It
is allowed to public to climb over to have a fabulous view of
the city and make beautiful pictures to show your family and
friends. The tower has been three times destructed by
earthquakes. After the third one in 1901 they replaced the
stone. The Anglican Cathedral of Christchurch is a magnificent
building. You will find in New Zealand a large number of
