The monument on the picture is the citizens’ war memorial statue. The statue has been made in commemoration of the New Zealand people who did during the First World War to save the world from Kaiser Wilhelm. The statue has four figures which represent youth, justice, peace and valour. Kaiser Wilhelm was the last German Emperor and is also known as William II or Wilhelm II. Wilhelm was also the King of Prussia. He has been ruling Prussia and Germany from June 1888 to November 1918. There are in different part of New Zealand statue which has been made in thank of the soldiers who battled in the World War to save New Zealand. There is the Okaiawa war Memorial, Wanganui Memorial, Oamaru War Memorial, Devonport War Memorial, Masterton War Memorial, Bombay Hills War Memorial, Titirangi Memorial.
