On this picture you can observe the work of shoreline erosion. In Moeraki you can see on the beach the Moeraki Boulders created by the erosion. The erosion created these huge spherical balls of stone which can weight tons and have a diameter of around three meters. Erosion can happen from water, ice and wind. It is often the displacement of rock, soil, mud or other solids. The Moeraki Boulders are the results of shoreline erosion; the boulders are one of the main attractions of Moeraki a small village. When you walk along the beach of Koekohe you will see a large number of boulders on the beach as if it is decoration that has been put there. The Moeraki Boulders is unique to New Zealand. So while you are on holiday in New Zealand, you should visit the beautiful village of Moeraki.
