The Egmont
National Park is located in southern part of New Plymouth near
the west coast of the North Island in Taranaki region. In the
middle of the National Park there is the main attraction of
Taranaki the Mount Taranaki. It has been declared as national
park in 1900. The National Park has an area of 33,534 hectares
and it is covered of a temperate rain forest. The Egmont
National Park is easily accessible to visitors. There is also a
large number of accommodations that can be found in the town of
New Plymouth and the surroundings of the park. Different lodge
type are available, from comfortable to luxurious, around the
park as the Konini Lodge, Mountain House Motor Lodge, Dawson
Falls Mountain Lodge, the Historic Camphouse offers also
habitations to the tourists. There are also lodges on the
mountain itself as the Kapuni Lodge, Tahurangi Lodge and
Stratford Mountain. New Plymouth is worth a visit when you visit
New Zealand. |
